Electric Cars To Be Excited About In 2021

With the UK set to end the sale of new petrol and diesel cars by 2030, there are scores of electric cars hitting the market this year. The government has introduced tax breaks, grants and other incentive schemes for those buying electric cars prompting companies to create state-of-the-art, electrified vehicles.


From Tesla and Volkswagen to Skoda and Nissan, all over the world vehicle manufacturers are rolling out the next generation of electric cars.

Looking for the perfect family car? Volkswagen introduces the ID.4, a stylish and straightforward hatchback SUV. The 77kWh battery has a 324-mile range according to Worldwide Harmonised Light Vehicle Test Procedure (WLTP) standards, with 30 minutes charging needed for 198 miles of battery life.

Nissan claims that the Ariya will “mark a new era for electric vehicles” by combining high levels of tech with “exciting” handling. This coupé crossover is ideal for daily commutes and road trips alike with an estimated range of up 310 miles.

Say hello to Skoda’s first all-electric SUV! Available in either 60 or 80 badged cars, the Enyaq iV 60 has a range of up to 242 miles on a single charge and 316 miles for the 80. The interior is “inspired by modern living environments”, using “natural, sustainably processed and recycled materials”.

Built-in a CO2-neutral factory, this saloon is a high-end, high-powered alternative to Mercedes’ fuel cars. Forget range anxiety with the EQS which has a 435-mile range and 469hp electric motors.

Due on sale late in 2021, the Model Y SUV will offer up to 314 miles of range and with rear-wheel-drive, it’ll hit 0–60mph in 5.5 seconds on its way to a top speed of 130mph.
